The company continues to be owned and managed by members of the Crane family, overseeing every final touch that goes into creating all of its diversifed products. The Crane watermark has been the most significant mark of quality over the past two centuries, symbolizing the pride and personal touch of the papermaker and providing visible evidence of uncompromising quality.
Wood is fine for 2x4s, but we prefer to make our fine papers from durable cotton. By using recovered cotton clippings from garment factories, we also ease the burden on landfills.

You never know where a Crane product might show up. Our Nonwovens division makes paperlike materials used in products as diverse as the Dodge Viper and orbiting satellites.
In 1850, a banker coined a term when he contacted Crane asking for our "bond paper" to use for letterhead. The "original" Crane's Bond® retains its distinctive identity among business papers.
Today, paper is used in ways that Zenas Crane never dreamed of in 1801. From copy machines to digital printing, Crane continues to develop technology-friendly cotton papers.
