Setting the stage for your event
From weddings and baby showers to poker parties and birthdays, personalized invitations set the stage for a memorable event.
Formal v. Informal
Invitations to social occasions may be formal, informal, or anything in between. The formality of your invitations should match the formality (or informality) of your event. Ecru and white are ideal for formal affairs while anything goes for barbecue, picnics, and even pumpkin carvings. For smaller events, fill-in invitations add just the right amount of style and personalization.
Information, please
Whether formal or informal, your invitation should include the basic information your guests need to plan and prepare to attend the event. For two-part events (i.e. weddings or bar mitzvahs with receptions at a separate location), invitation inserts provide the means to organize all the relevant information in logical manner.
Everything in its place
The wording for formal invitations can provide some unique challenges. Depending upon the attendees and degree of formality, you may wish to consult a guide, such as Crane’s Wedding Blue Book, for guidance on how to word your invitation and avoid unintentionally insulting a guest.
