Supply Chain Manager - Indirect Services

Crane & Co., Inc., a premier manufacturer of fine stationery, currency and nonwoven papers, currently has an opening for a Supply Chain Manager – Indirect Services, which can be located in either Dalton or Boston, MA.

This is a key role within the Corporate Global Supply Management (GSM) team responsible for the development and execution of the corporate indirect services strategic sourcing plan to improve service, processes, and leverage spending across the enterprise.

This position facilitates the sourcing, negotiation, contracting, implementation, administration, and management of indirect sourcing, e-commerce, travel, p-cards, facilities, IT, and HR services. The incumbent develops and maintains strategic supplier alliances and serves as a value added member of various cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • MBA, or Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of strategic sourcing experience
  • Proficiency with all MS Office applications
  • Experience with strategic sourcing of indirect services desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with legal aspects of contract language for negotiation purposes
  • High degree of financial, quantitative, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated advanced professional presence and communication skills
  • High degree of experience managing change through influence in a multicultural organization
  • Process improvement experience and/or training preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% with some international travel
  • Comfortable with global projects; able to facilitate stakeholder and supplier collaboration internationally and across cultures
  • Demonstrates excellence in managing internal customers
  • Able to work up, down and across the organization; connects at all levels
  • Self-motivated, flexible, dynamic, and proactive with the ability to motivate others
  • Ability to pass and maintain security clearance through the Bureau of Engraving & Printing

Responsibilities:

  • Create the Indirect Services sourcing strategy to move the company towards being "best-in-class" by partnering with the right suppliers across the enterprise
  • Develop strategic supplier partnerships by leveraging the company’s spend volume
  • Standardize suppliers and establish performance goals
  • Negotiate, implement and manage supplier contracts and service level agreements as well as supplier relationships on behalf of the company with Year-Over-Year (YOY) productivity expectations
  • Influence change across a globally diverse set of stakeholders in a complex, matrix organization
  • Summarize and present complex agreements to executives for feedback and approval
  • Utilize project management and transformational lean improvement methodology to drive operational improvements
  • Drive supplier consolidation and supplier risk management objectives
  • Develop and track key indirect services performance indices and report progress as required
  • Prepare RFI’s, RFP’s, and RFQ’s and evaluate supplier proposals
  • Effectively lead and communicate at all levels within the company, working closely with cross functional teams to drive success (IT, Finance, Legal, HR, etc.)
  • Manage price inflation and negate trends without negatively effecting service or quality
  • Perform duties related to acquisition integration, including due diligence research and opportunity assessments, while delivering on synergy savings commitments as needed
