Crane & Co., Inc., a premier manufacturer of fine stationery and currency papers located in Dalton MA, has an excellent opportunity for a Finance Director within our US Government Products Division.

This position is a key member of the division leadership team, and is responsible for providing financial reporting, analysis/insights and support to enable the division to meet its aggressive profit and growth goals. This includes:

Developing a deep understanding of cost and profit drivers in the division. Creatively identifying opportunities to transform the business models – including cost, make vs. buy, pricing, etc. Leading or participating in teams to drive lean initiatives. Working with peers to proactively identify growth opportunities - assessing investments for ROI; administering sound policies for pricing, discounts, etc; partnering on new product, channel or business development initiatives. Managing 3 year plans, annual budgeting, and forecasting – for predictability/credibility. Monitoring performance by business segment, and identifying issues or opportunities. Working closely with division peers in identifying and solving issues. Ensuring the integrity and credibility of division financial reporting

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA preferred.
  • 8 - 10 years’ experience in various finance functions
  • Knowledge of consumer product organization business models, and typical profit and growth levers. Additional knowledge of digital business models – a plus
  • Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
  • Demonstrated success in supporting business leaders in transforming cost and revenue structure to significantly improve the profit and growth trajectory of the business
  • Experienced in identifying and realizing opportunities to reengineer costs – including process reengineering, and outsourcing
  • Experienced in analyzing and supporting new product, account/channel and business development initiatives
  • Ability to operate in Task Force/Team participation environment with non-financial managers is necessary to solve multi-faceted Business problems
  • Strong ability to influence and serve as a proactive catalyst
  • Extensive knowledge of integrated computer based Financial Accounting Systems. Knowledge of Standard Cost systems, preferred. Experience with J.D. Edwards ERP systems, preferred
  • Experience with Process Reengineering, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPS, TQM), strongly preferred
  • Valid driver’s License to attend Company meetings off-site or at other locations and/or technical seminars
  • Must pass and maintain security clearance through the US Treasury Department
