A group of 10 printing firms across the country were selected to introduce Continuum Papers. According to Vice President David Crane, introducing these new papers through printers allowed the company to gain important technical and marketing information prior to the full-scale national launch in January 2000.
"We have created this new line of papers based upon what we think is good, solid market information," said Crane. "But there can be no substitute for having your papers out in the field, being sold by print professionals who will be involved in all aspects of a print project. Our printers will be able to give us feedback on numerous topics, including the look of the papers, their environmental pedigree, breadth of the line and, most importantly, how they are received by the customer. We can then use this information to fine-tune any aspect of the line prior to the nationwide launch."
